mary

Dear friends,

Thank you all. You are all true friends. Mary will be home in a few hours.
As my wise son says, we can only assume that she hears us tell her and
knows where she is. We have been married 48 years. This is so hard.

Bill,

The folks who study such things say that in the final analysis the best
predictor of happiness is the ability to experience gratitude. I know
how grateful I am for the years I have spent with my wife and I know
how devastated I would feel at the prospect of losing her. I also know
how grateful you are for your years with Mary. Let a little of that
gratitude in, if you can.

Best,

Bruce Gregory

"Prediction is so persuasive that what we "perceive"--that is, how the
world appears to us--does not come solely from our senses. What we
perceive is a combination of what we sense and of our brains'
memory-driven predictions."

Dear Bill,

I am so shocked and saddened I don't know what to say or where to say it. My
heart goes out to you, your children and all of us who have lost a wise and
wonderful soul.

Love

Rick
