I have some fond memories of the Wurst Haus

One direction I think is interesting is the use of Bachelard's
notion of epistemological obstacle, and link evidences of current
misconceptions to apparent impasses and conflicts in the
development of mathematics historically (e.g., Brousseau).

That's certainly something we should look into.

Consider the doodlebug experiment in Rokeach, _The Open and Closed Mind_.

Re the conference I can report that there were constructive meetings of
various minds. There was some 1-1 discussion whether the verbal aspect of
communication was 30% or only 10% but strong agreement that email is sorely
lacking as a communication channel.

Much more can be said and I am sure will be.

What a relief! It's not that we are uncivil, it is all the fault of e-mail.
I wonder what we would have blamed before e-mail? I guess you just have had
to be there to understand....
