Sorry to hear that Tom feels that PCT has nothing to do with mind or
behavior -- the subject matter of the field of psychology. What's he study
these days -- robots?
I can only go so far as to his opines..but i feel he would contend that PCT
says a great deal about behavior, while psychology has been much about
something else, namely artifacts in the pejoritive sense. As for Mind,
psychology has proven far more fruitless--2000 years since Plato and we have
Dennet and Fodor rehashing Mind as representative and Mind as aboutness.
Aside, i consider PCT to offer little help in the Mind department either, but a
hierarchical perspective would.
