I recently argued that "control" was probably the best
term to use within the discipline being discussed on
this list. However, since i.kurtzer (951128.2200)
brought up the notion that stability is a relevant
feature, how about "regulation" -- "perceptual
regulation theory?" Regulation brings to mind, for
me, maintaining a standard.
