New CSG Gopher Server

[Yes, Bruce Abbott, that's Greenwich Mean Time, which is the preferred
universal time standard for use on CSGnet, on which the sun never sets (or
never rises, depending on your piint of view). I will get back to you
privately soon about sharing my toys.]

There is a new Gopher server now available for CSG affairs. It's name is

gopher.ed.uiuc.edu

This the Gopher server of the College of Education at the University of
Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Follow the path:

Higher Education Resources/
Professional societies & journals/
Control Systems Group

Right now only an older version of the CSGnet Intro and Dag Forssell's
compilation of MS-DOS PCT computer demos are available. But I plan to be
adding other documents and programs in the future as time allows, including
the useful files on Bill Silvert's file server.

If you don't know what Gopher is or how to use it, it's time for you to get
with it. Ask your local Internet guru. Or try typing "gopher" when
connected to your Internet machine and see what happens.

Of course, if someone were willing to take over management of CSGnet I
would have more time to develop these more sophisticated applications of
the Internet for the CSG and PCT (including Wide-World Web resources).
This is your big chance to become supreme NetGod of CSGnet!--Gary
