I may be wrong on this, but my suspicion is that if you tell people to
`look at any book on X' in order to find examples of absurd
presentations of something, they aren't actually likely to do it
Your suspicion is probably correct. But I wasn't talking to anyone;
I was trying to direct you to sources for the "input blunder" that
you asked about. I gave enough information for you to find two books
-- by Sheridan and Ferrell and by Poulton. I didn't have the references
handly so I gave them as best as I could because I wanted to get them to
you ASAP. But, for the sake of specificity I will try to remember to post
all the references I have available (including the page number of the
most revealing diagrams) when I get back to the office. The only
books I keep at home are the bible (BCP) and works by the disciples.
