Right now I am reading the book “You are the placeboâ€? by Joe Dispenza (2014).
His ‘mental rehearsal’ is similar to what you are describing Warren and it has all to do with reorganization. I think PCT can play a role in placebo research as well, where a person can create the placebo effect him/herself.
