Program level vs. programs in AI: 1

[Martin Taylor 2018.01.16.14.22]

Since my longer essays seem to have no influence on the discussion, I am doing the "reorganisation thing" and trying something different, concentrating on just one statement at a time.

[From Bruce Nevin (2018.01.16.13:27)]

A sequence perceptual control system is a series of control loops, each with its own perceptual input function,

No it is not, not as I understand control of a sequence. A sequence perception consists of the perception that a series of control loop is in the process of being performed in the selected order. But those control loops are not part of the sequence perception itself. They are lower-level control loops, perhaps themselves sequence perceptions, perhaps as simple as moving a switch to a reference position an external observer would label "on", perhaps as complex as collecting the parts you imagine you will need in order to create the robot you imagine building. These are actions that are the output functions of the lower level perceptions to which the sequence perception sends reference values when necessary. The perception of light indicates that the switch is at its reference location, and allows the collection of the parts.

Enough for this statement.

I did say the same before, but apparently that created no disturbance to a perception anyone controls.
