Research Gate just notified me of this project

https://www.researchgate.net/project/The-Human-Behaviour-Change-Project

Names and affiliations of 14 collaborators are shown.

Website https://www.humanbehaviourchange.org/ is shown and turns out to be dedicated to this project.

The lead, Susan Michie, D.Phil in Experimental Psychology, Oxford, is in London.

Might someone like Warren Mansell ask these people if they have any idea what behavior is and how it works?

Best, Dag

[From: Richard Pfau (2018.06.12 4:45 EDT)]

Dag and Other CSGnet Members,

In her book ABC of Behavior Change Theories (Susan Michie et al., Great Britain: Silverback Publishing, 2014), 5 pages were devoted to “Control Theory (Carver & Scheier)” as one of 83 theories described. The description is a basic and accurate introduction taken from an article by Carver & Scheier (1982).

When I read the book a few years ago, I wrote to Dr. Michie to inform her that William T. Powers writings (ex. 1973) were the basis of Carver and Scheier’s views and suggested, that in the future, she give him credit for originating the view of control theory presented in her book. She responded with a thank you but I haven’t heard or seen anything since from her or her colleagues on the Behaviour Change Project concerning control theory or PCT.

Perhaps if others acquainted with PCT wrote to her, her attention might be furthered concerning Perceptual control Theory as a basic explanation of human behavior and major paradigm shift that meets the criteria of good theory so well [as explained, for example, on pages 204-214 of my book Your Behavior].

With Regards,

Richard Pfau
