Here's a probable disturbance, from the abstract of one of the segments of tonight's program "The Agenda" on TVO. I think you could probably see the program as or after it airs, on tvo.org.

"Are we the masters of our own destiny? Or do random events outside of our control decide the course of our lives? Harvard psychologist Ellen Langer argues we are psychologically repelled by the idea of randomness in our lives, instead opting for an "illusion of control.""
