I pulled out some of my
notes on variables. This is how science classifies variables.
· First
classification:
o Primary,
mass, length, time,
temperature, charge
o Secondary,
force, etc
· Second
classification:
o Scalar
and vector quantities
· Third
classification
o Intensive,
temperature
o Extensive,
mass
· Fourth
classification
o Explicate,
measure directly, like temperature
o Implicate,
has to be calculated, like energy or Reynolds Number.
