virus warning

Bruce Nevin:

Thank you for the virus warning!!! It appeared in the same batch of mail as
the virus attachment, and I was able to delete sulfnbk.exe. I am working on
my laptop because my desktop computer lost its hard drive yesterday. This
one is my chief backup, and losing it, too, would have been pretty
inconvenient.

I wouldn't have run it anyway, but I understand that there are some
self-starting viruses. I'm about ready to join the vigilantes.

Best,

Bill P.

Found virus PE_Magistr.A in file SULFNBK.EXE

Sorry, guys, I think this is a Virtual Virus, one in which the user is
duped into messing up their computer.

"SULFNBK.EXE" is a file in Microsoft systems that is used to handle long
file names.

It was going around the end of May, saying that something terrible would
happen on June 1 if the file was not removed.

If you check the virus software sites, you will get the full story.

Hank

Well, dumb old me opened it. Evened punched the attacment button and heard my
hard drive reader thump around. So, what can I do now? Any suggestions
appreciated.

anything, and my check hasn't been cashed yet???
