Oops. Pushed "send" too quickly. Let me just finish that last part:

In his introductory discussion of the control loop, Dag talks about the
perceptual function as though we already knew that memory signals are
definitely required as inputs to the perceptual function in order to model
the controlling done by people.

All I was going to add was that I think the idea that there are memory
signals entering perceptual functions is a very plausible notion that
deserves test. But in an introductory discussion of PCT (like Dag's) I think
it's best to stick with the basic model.
