At our annual meeting on Thursday, 11 October, we reviewed and ratified amendments to the bylaws that had previously been drafted and approved by the Board. A copy of the bylaws with the before-and-after states indicated may be viewed at:
Aside from tidying up some formal details, the substantive changes were to add an at-large member to the Executive Board, and to increase the terms of the officers from one year to three years, with provision to stagger the terms and avoid loss of continuity.
We nominated and elected officers and an at-large member of the Board as follows:
- President: Bruce Nevin
- Vice President: Warren Mansell
- Secretary: Alison Powers
- Treasurer: Rick Marken
- At-large board member: Henry Yin
Under the new provision, the current term of the Secretary is one year, that of the Vice President two, and that of the President three, whereafter 3-year terms will take effect for all three. The Treasurer serves until resignation or removal, and the at-large Board member is elected annually.
We discussed progress in moving to an online forum. There was consensus that this is a good and necessary step.
We agreed on the location of our next annual meeting at the IAPCT conference in Manchester, UK, and we delegated to the Board to work out the optimum date and time of that meeting during the conference.
