Alright, PCTers, I have a meeting in late April with my former English
Teacher (not my old English teacher which I referred to her once) who is now
in charge of Professional Development and the Director of Secondary Education
to discuss Quality Management Principles as they apply to schools.
Additionally there is a possible interest in how PCT (as I explained it in
five minutes) might assist them in the school district. Her first comment
was "that sounds a lot like Reality Therapy." She probably has read more
about it than I.
What I would like to know is what are the five main differences between RT
and PCT, so I can give her a choice as to what kinds of things they might
like to pursue at the school. Any other advice on how to handle or approach
this meeting would be appreciated. My only other option is to study
Discipline in the Schools for some inspiration. A young whipper snapper (29)
needs help in new situations like this, especially only being exposed to PCT
for under two years.
Yesterday, they had a fifth grader make the newspaper by being suspended for
punching a teacher. (This is what prompted my call.) I thought of how Ed
Ford might handle this. Haven't seen him post here for a while. Maybe
someone could forward this to him? I'll try as well, but don't have his
e-mail with me at this computer.
Hope this all isn't too much to ask or the wrong time or place in the middle
of the other interesting discussions ongoing : )
Thanks Very Much,
Chris
