Why They Cry, Conference videos

[From Dag Forssell (960726 10:00)]

If you still have copies of Hetty and Frans' book, Why They Cry, I'd
really like to get a copy. I originally thought I'd wait til Harper
Collins came out with a US edition, but in calling them to see when
that might be and/or if I could encourage that process, they claimed
not to have any record of it.

Erling,

Indeed, I tried ordering from Harper Collins through my book store to begin
with. They *should* have it. In time they probably will.

I sold all 15 copies I ordered from London already. Several people on the
net and more at the conference picked it up. I have read half of my own
copy and like it a lot. It gives us a vivid illustration of HPCT. I hope we
will have some book reviews on the net from those who have it and read it.
(Goldstein, your book is one of the 15, waiting for check and address.)

I took orders for two more at the conference (Brent Dennis and Gary Cziko -
now you know I cannot take your cash and forget). I have just ordered 10
more, but by surface this time. (Just got my Visa bill, and It turned out
that the air freight alone cost $4 per book. But I wanted them at the
conference.)

By the time Christine and I come back from spending August in Sweden, the
books will probably arrive and I can deliver.

The conference was stimulating.
As before, I videotaped the proceedings.

Presentations that come immediately to mind were:

Bill Powers reporting on Skinner cages, complete vith live video,
Tom Bourbon reporting on criminal neglect in major scientific studies,
Rick Marken presenting a clear paper on
"Methods in the study of Living Control Systems,"
Tom Bourbon chairing panel presentation on school program,
Kent McClelland presenting his paper "Sociology from the ground up," and
Fred Good discussing a draft of Bill Powers' new book introducing PCT.

I expect to put three tapes together next week, before we leave for Sweden
on August 5. The price will be the same as before: $10 per tape = $30 + $5
ship.

I will have very limited production capacity in the time before we leave (it
takes a full day running my two VCRs to produce one set), so most deliveries
will have to wait until September.

Best, Dag
