Just got back home this morning from a great 2005 CSG meeting in Crieff
Hills, Ontario. It was wonderful to see old friends, make new ones,
and learn about the latest developments in PCT, CSG and MOL.
As I mentioned in my presentation, there are now PCT-related Wikipedia
articles that anyone can edit and contribute to with the following
titles:
-
Perceptual Control Theory
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perceptual_Control_Theory -
Control Systems Group
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Control_Systems_Group (where information
is already included about the 2006 meeting in China and the newly-elected
CSG officers) -
Method of Levels
[
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Method_of_Levels
](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Method_of_Levels)(We also created a preliminary template for a PCT Wikibook at the
meeting. But I now think we should hold off on the PCT Wikibook
until we have enough info in the Wikipedia article on PCT.)
The easiest way to find these articles (and any other articles on in the
English-language Wikipedia) is to go to WikiWax at
http://wikiwax.com
and just start typing in the “look ahead” search
window. Typing in the initial letters of “Perceptual Control
Theory”, “Control Systems Group”, and “Method of
Levels” will quickly find the desired article for you. You can
also use the acronuyms PCT, CSG and MOL to find these articles.
Anyone with knowledge of PCT, CSG and/or MOL is welcome to contribute to
these articles. I would be best, however, if contributors
registered before editing (using their real or recognizable name) so
others can know who added what. Registration is fast and simple at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ or at any Wikipedia page (just
click “Create account/login” near the top-right corner) and
requires only a username and password (the username can have a space, so
I suggest using firstname lastname such as John Smith). Then just
don’t forget to log in every time you make an edit or
contribution.
The committee in charge of organizing the 2006 CSG meeting in China may
wish to use
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Control_Systems_Group to add information
about the meeting as it becomes available. Others may want to post
questions or provide suggestions about the meeting using the Discussion
page of the CSG Wikipedia (click the Discussion tab at the top of the
article). Rick can then periodically check the Wikipedia CSG
article and Discussin page and add the information to the CSG website at
[
http://www.perceptualcontroltheory.com/
](http://www.perceptualcontroltheory.com/)Dag Forssell is considering setting up a “private” Wiki for
CSG use on his server space, something that could be used for
collaborative writing and research. More later.
I look forward to watching the Wiki articles evolve in more and more
informative and useful sources of information about PCT, CSG and
MOL.

Rick: Please add links to the three Wikipedia articles listed above
on the CSG website.
Kent: Please consider adding some of the sociology information and
references you shared at the conference to the PCT Wikipedia
article.
