World Future Society on Economix

[FDrom Bill Powers (2003.02.04.1612 MST)]

Dick Robertson,2003.02.06.1638 CST--

In light of the recent interest in economix on the net some of you might
be interested in this theme in the brochure of the World Future Society
for their San Francisco meeting, which is July 18-20, just three days
before our meeting in LA.

I'll be interested in hearing what is said there, but the cost is too much
for me. Nice if we could get Cliff Joslyn to give us a report at our
meeting. Could we offer him a free ride, Rick?

Best,

Bill P.

"Econo2003: The Coming Global Depression
The U.S. economy, which is linked to the economies of most countries, is
soon to collapse in a depression that will be similar...to that ot the
'30s. By the last quarter of 2004, the world economy will react as if
it's been hit by an `econoquake'--a tremendous shaking of the economic
landscape that will leave a ruin of economically crippled businesses and
individuals around the globe....The so-called experts don't see the
depths of our problems....They've been looking for a cyclic
financial...when the real problem is a collapse of the global industrial
base...." Etc.

If any of you are interested but not members, the registration by 2/18
is $385. A number of their programs look interesting. I might go
before coming to LA
