Chad:
I'm sure Bill can speak for himself but, on my part, I don't see him as
lamenting the lack of acceptance per se. If you will recall I raised the
concepts of proximate and ultimate results a while back. I rather suspect
something along the lines of a lack of general acceptance of PCT as a
barrier or obstacle to downstream results (e.g., burgeoning research, better
research, a quest for useful applications, etc., etc., etc.). Again, on my
part, I work to increase/improve the standing/stature of PCT in my field
because I think it will lead to a better world. And, admittedly, I'd also
like to garner some of the credit for helping make that happen. But who's
to say? Only time will tell.

If you put it that way, then I fail to see the rationale in Bill's lament
about the
status of PCT within the field of psychology. Why would you care about
general acceptance within a given field when PCT itself represents the
archetype of legitimation itself?

Thanks for the link, Chad. Looks interesting. Also looks like a good
tool set. I
hadn't heard of it before so right now I don't see a connection between
the
Target Model and the C-K square. That said, the C-K design square might
well be a useful tool for someone trying to control a variable such as the
quality of a design. The A in my model stands for Actions and that covers
